CALL OF ELECTION

Public Notice of the City of Surprise, Arizona.

Notice is hereby given that the City of Surprise, Arizona will hold elections as follows:

Primary Election:     Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

General Election:     Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Offices to be filled – Three (3) four year terms to expire 2013:            District Council Seats:  Districts 1 (Acacia), 5 (Palm) & 6 (Palo Verde).

Candidate Packets with Petitions are Available:   Monday, January 5, 2009 starting at 8:00 a.m.  

Candidate Packet Filing Deadline:          Nomination paper, financial disclosure statements, affidavit of qualifications and petitions are due no earlier than Monday, May 4, 2009 and no later than Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 – 5:00 p.m. Candidate packets need to be filed at the City Clerk’s Office – 12425 West Bell Road, Suite D-100, Surprise, Arizona 85374.  

Voter Registration Deadline:                   Monday, August 3^rd, 2009 for primary

For General Election if applicable:              Monday, October 5^th, 2009

Provisional Ballot and Ballot Drop Off Location –  The Surprise City Council voted to direct the City Clerk to conduct all City Elections using the Ballot By Mail method.  The Surprise City Clerk’s Office will be a designated Provisional Ballot and Ballot Drop Off location – 16000 N. Civic Center Drive, Surprise, Arizona 85374.

Aviso por este medio se da que la Ciudad de Surprise tendrá elecciónes:

Elección Primaria:      martes, 1 de septiembre, 2009            

Elección General:       martes, 3 de noviembre, 2009

Posiciónes Disponibles: El perdiodo de tres (3) años – termine en 2013:  Miembros del Concejo Eligidos de Distritos 1 (Acacia), 5 (Palm) y 6 (Palo Verde).

Paquetes de Candidatura y Formularios de Nombramiento estarán disponibles: lunes, 5

de enero, 2009 – 8:00 de la manana

La última fecha para entregar los paquetes de candidatura: Peticiones de Nombramiento y Formularios para Candidatura como Miembro del Concejo se entregarán empezando lunes, 4 de mayo, 2009 y la última fecha para entregarlos es 3 de junio, 2009 (5:00 de la tarde) en la oficina de la Secretaria Municipal de la Ciudad de Surprise – 12425 W. Bell Road, D-100, Surprise, Arizona 85374

La última fecha para inscibirese para votar:  lunes, 3 de agosto, 2009 (elección     

                                                                            primaria)

lunes, 5 de octubre, 2009 (elección general)                                                                                                                             

Boleta Provisional:

Miembros del Concejo de la Cuidad de Surprise dirigieron a la Secretaria Municipal que

todos los elecciónes seran “Boleta por Correo”.  La oficina de la Secretaria Municipal

sera el lugar designada para dejar su boleta o boleta reemplazo – 16000 N. Civic Center Drive, Surprise, Arizona 85374.
