Red Shirt Program
The Surprise Fire Department Red Shirt Program was created to provide aspiring firefighters the opportunity to become involved with the department and gain hands on experience in the career of firefighting. Red Shirts will have the opportunity to gain work experience and become familiar with the Surprise Fire Department culture through a multitude of training opportunities, ride along, and volunteering for the community. This program allows Red Shirts to experience firsthand the Surprise Fire Departments mission to protect and preserve life and property with the highest level of safety, customer service, pride and professionalism.

The Surprise Fire Department Red Shirt Program is currently accepting applications through February 28th at midnight. Please submit your application and essay using the links below.
