Description:
The Surprise Disability Advisory Commission meets every 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6 pm. The commission focuses on community-wide accessibility that addresses the needs of people with disabilities while increasing public awareness and advocacy. Public attendance is encouraged.

*TTY (Teletypewriter) consists of a keyboard and electronic display; it converts typed messages into electronic tones which are sent over a standard phone line, much like a fax machine. Communication is direct with anyone who has a similar device, or the Telecommunications Relay System can be used as a medium for communication.
*VP (Video Phone) is a videophone system that is allows two individuals to communicate in sign language "face to face" through the use of a videocamera and monitor.
